Thing is one of our squishy models, meant just for squishing purposes! I saw them as being from the same shapeshifting alien species as our other squishy model, Whatsit. Said species attempts to mimic normal Earth creatures, but can't ever quite get it right. In Thing's case, he's their attempt at a dolphin. Feel free to take one off our hands, they're mostly docile!
